Captain Boxer Shorts and the Admiral finally made it to a safe harbour where they decided to stay for the winter.

I wonder what they will get up to next year?

Chapter 17. Bulbs, Watts and Electricity.

On Friday, Captain Boxer Shorts had to go shopping so he zoomed ashore and went to the car.

He remembered that one of the lights was not working so he

drove to the bulb shop.

"I want a bulb, please," he said.

"What watt?" asked the assistant.

Captain Boxer Shorts said, "I'm not sure, I think five watt."

"What?" said the assistant.

"FIVE!" said Captain Boxer Shorts.

Looking at the bulb Captain Boxer Shorts said, "That's not right, it must be four watt."

"Oh!" said the assistant, "For what?"

"No," said Captain Boxer Shorts, "A 4 watt Bulb."

Eventually Captain Boxer Shorts gets the right bulb and starts to fit it to the car.

At last he just needed some electricity to test it.

Chapter 16. Sea Monsters, Monkfish and Chips.

Captain Boxer Shorts has had only boring times in the last few days . Perhaps he was abducted by aliens again. That could be exciting, but since they wipe your memory clean ,you can’t remember anything about it!

This is what happened on Thursday.

Captain Boxer Shorts woke up with a start. 

"What’s that noise?" he said to himself.

"Is it a sea monster?

Have we run ashore?"

No, its my old friend, Sea Captain Rory.

"Ahoy There!" he shouted, "are you awake?"

"I am now," mumbled Captain Boxer Shorts, dragging himself out of his hammock.

If ever you have a hammock, don’t put your hammock here!"

Look carefully before climbing into it.

Captain Rory was with his boat the good ship FiArt.

"I’ve come to fill my water barrels with some fresh water from the harbour," he said.

"Hello, Rory!" Captain Boxer Shorts said, "Are you well?"

"How about some lunch later?" he shouted back. 

"OK!" shouted Captain Boxer Shorts, "I'll see you later at the restaurant."

At the restaurant Captain Boxer Shorts ordered lunch.

"I think I will have squid," he said.

"And I will have monk fish," said Rory.

No that’s not right - that's a monk fishing!

This is a monkfish!

"Lots of chips please," they both said.

That's not right, that's a computer chip!

"These are the sort of chips we want!"

Chapter 15.Painting, Pizzas and Swimming.

The Continuing Adventures of Captain Boxer Shorts - Sunday

Captain Boxer Shorts had practice painting when he was little.

Once Captain Boxer Shorts had a job painting road markings but he didn’t have the job for very long!

On Sunday Captain Boxer Shorts had to finish painting a small door and needed to find a way to fix it back in place. After that he had to decide what to have for lunch.

"I know what to have for lunch, a pizza! I'll pop it in the oven for a few minutes."

"Is it cooked yet?"

"Never mind I will make a BIG sandwich!"

After lunch Captain Boxer Shorts decided to have a swim. It was very crowded. "Everybody is here today," he said.

Sometimes it is safer out of the water

Perhaps it would be safer at the swimming pool

Captain Boxer Shorts can’t remember the rest of Sunday so perhaps he was abducted by the aliens again!

Chapter 14. Aliens, Jumbos and Giant Chickens.

The captain's computer has been unwell, so there are three days of adventures in one chapter.

Thursday

Captain boxer shorts was abducted by aliens and has his memory wiped clean.

Perhaps he was beamed up.

However he can remember some of the horrid things he was subjected to.

These are the humiliations he was subjected to,

First I had to wash up all the dishes, cups knives and forks on the spaceship,

Then I had to made my bed and put all my clothes away.

Then I had to clear away all the tools and stuff I had taken with me.

You will know when you have been abducted when you have experienced "missing time". You will check the clock and find you have no idea what happened in the last several hours.

Captain boxer shorts gets a phone call from his friend Phil, "Help," says Phil, "I have a leak!"

"What, like this?"

"NO, its my small boat, its deflating."

"Don’t bother calling the police,

I will bring my pump," said Captain Boxer Shorts.

Saturday

Captain boxer shorts goes shopping at Jumbo supermarket

No this, its a large supermarket.

Captain Boxer Shorts buys lots of food and some ice cream, thinking I will get back quickly and put it in the fridge.

But there is a traffic jam.....

...and when Captain Boxer Shorts gets back the ice cream has melted.

Its a giant chicken for tea.

The cooker has got to be hot

Full of food and so to bed.

Chapter 13. Charts, Chinese Food and Trains

Captain Boxer Shorts is still on his own aboard the Good Ship Mithril.

Wednesday

Today I started to reassemble the chart table and store the charts. The charts are maps that tell the sailor about the sea and land. Here are some:

My friend Phil rang and said he was going to eat a Chinese and would I like to come with him. No, not like cannibals, he means a Chinese meal.

So after finishing my jobs I washed and changed, jumped into the dinghy and set off to shore,

It was very busy in the river with lots of craft.

Must remember to watch out for the police boat.

Sometimes there are quite dangerous things to avoid,

However I reached the marina without problems and tied the dinghy up to a pontoon.

I met Phil on his boat and we set off the the restaurant.

Its quite good, he said ,you can eat all you want. I must be careful , I don’t want to get too fat.

The restaurant was very good with lots of choice.

We talked about lots of things and Phil told me about the trip he is going to make. He going to be travelling from Portugal to England by train, its a very long trip.

First he had to book a ticket, 

Since its a long trip he wanted to book a sleeper,

"What?" I said, "like this?"

                            or this?

No its a kind of bunk bed on the train.

Perhaps the train will be crowded.

When you get to the border you have to change train, I am not sure why.

After a huge meal we set of back to the Marina car-park , Phil said good night and went to his boat in the boat yard, and I went to the marina to get the dinghy.

The gate is opened with a special card. It did NOT work, the gate stayed shut.

So I waited and waited for somebody else to come to open the gate, but everybody was already on their boats as it was quite late.

So Captain Boxer Shorts had to clamber over the gate.

The picture shows how I did it, I got the cat to show me the best way over.

Eventually back in my dinghy full of food.

The trip back had a slightly fearful moment!

Then back to the Good Ship Mithril and I was soon fast asleep.
